I am first and foremost a learner–curious about nearly everything I encounter. My job as an educator is intricately dependent on my own continuous learning because a stagnant teacher is most often an ineffective one.

I am a Teacherpreneur to the CTQ Collaboratory— a network of educators who connect in a virtual space to dialogue, encourage, challenge, and support each other around the most important issues in education. I’m working with their communications team to help teachers change the public narrative around education and the profession. I’m extremely happy to be in a hybrid role where my leadership skills are granted time and opportunity while I still do what I love: teaching students.

As a gardener and English teacher, I see this digital space as the soil from which to plant a garden of thoughts, ideas, and observations and hope they grow into a landing spot for discussion and learning. This is a place for the confessions of a wife, teacher, sister, gardener, home owner, traveler, reader, and friend.

I have an undeniable fascination with conversation–virtual and face to face. Humans are relational creatures who desire not only to KNOW but to BE KNOWN by others, and it is for this reason that I send my thoughts into the digital void. To know and be known. To discover the relationship between truth and beauty and whether either relates to a Grecian Urn. To listen and be heard. To vent and comfort. And above all, to embrace and celebrate the power of words.
